Workings of the CouncilThe Council with the Parish Clerk manage day-to-day aspects of the Council. If you wish to contact the Parish Council please click on the link chieveley.pc@chieveley.info or telephone 247507. General office hours: Tuesday and Wednesday 9.30am to 1pm. We do have an answerphone so if the office is shut please leave a message and the clerk will come back to you. Chieveley Parish Council represents about 2710 parishioners or 1859 members of the electorate in Chieveley, Curridge and Oare. The residents elect members of the Parish Council every four years. The last election was in May 2003. The council receives a grant from West Berkshire District Council and is responsible for consulting and feeding village opinion to higher levels on such matters as planning applications. Meetings of the council are public. The Parish Council generally meets on the second Tuesday of every month with the exception of August when there is no meeting. We vary our venue between the Chieveley Recreation Centre and the Curridge W I Hall. We put up our agendas on notice boards around the parish 3 clear working days before a meeting is due to take place. At our Annual General Meeting of the Parish Council, held every May, the members elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman for the new year. The Parish Council has to work closely with West Berkshire District Council providing services for the villages of Chieveley, Curridge and Oare.
