The Newbury Showground is to the South East of the village. Official details are available from www.newburyshow.co.uk . This doubles as the Royal County of Berkshire's county show and our own private affair (albeit one that has got a little out of hand).
The Agricultural Society runs two events a year on the showground:
- The Summer Show - 15-16 June 2007
- The Royal County of Berkshire Show 15, 16 September 2007 - a traditional county show. Go and support the many villagers thinking of joining the band of chicken-keepers and admire the Dexter cattle.
It is a good idea not to try to drive in the village on a show weekend. Tickets are available at a discount in advance from the village shop.
The showground is also used for a variety of horse and dog shows, as well as sales and in October a Showman's show. There is an occasional steam rally that can be good entertainment.
